Dear Democracy,
I had a feeling you've been stifled and soon, you'll no longer exist. When I met you on 21st March 1990, I immediately fell head over heels in love with you. The thought of you made me blush... Helplessly that was! Around 2015, the new dawn excited me. I was never ever more proud to be NAMIBIAN then on 21st March 2015. If my sisters can attest, they'll tell you how I was boasting to my fellow Young Afrikan Leaders on whatsapp. I beamed with so much pride. I even stopped referring to myself as Azanian-Namibian (but, as you've noticed, I'm back on that horse). Around June or so, a month before my birthday (2015), you broke my heart. I saw your light dimming, I noticed how your voice became quiet. You stopped correcting what was wrong, you ceased to harness the voice of the Namibian nation. Bottom line, you ceased to take my calls. Democracy, how could you do that to me? To the future generation? To le twins? How could you cowardice to incoming dictatorship like that? I don't understand. I've known you as BRAVE, LOVING, OBJECTIVE and most importantly LIBERATING. Your actions have greatly hurt me.
Kyk ne, I may understand that you experienced bribery, stifling of your speech, corruption, looting, mismanagement, (maladministration), fraud, Chinese friends were infringed on you, you were infiltrated by overnight politicians, overnight tenderpreneurs, overnight A-Team, overnight junk status and an overnight increase of Parliament. However, I can't allow you take all the blame. I think I betrayed you when I allowed people to shokotora the constitution. I still ask myself, was I too blinded by excitement that I overlooked your possible assassination? Ai man democracy, I should've known better. Young people who/that are supposed to know better also betrayed you because of the belly, you know mos, HUNGER HAS NO PROTOCOL. Shem. They can't even talk because the cake in their mouths is sweet. For now that it.
Democracy, you've made me Demo-CRACY(zy). Where are you aano? Opuwo shili, you've surrendered power? Nauo riri? Akwetu, I was never ready to see you go down without a fight. I hope you'll be able to realize that your citizenry needs you. We NEED you. For now, I'll pretend that you are holiday and you'll be back soon.
Nonetheless, I hope my status finds you well. Until we meet again, FARE THEE WELL Democracy. Goodbye. I hope to see you when you decide to get back from whatever placed they've buried you in. I meant to say, from your holiday.
Madam Chair aka Sarah-Leigh
