Sleepovers are dangerous...

Dear parents,

1. STOP sending your children to sleepovers. Studies show that MOST of the sexual abuse happens during sleepovers. In the comfort of the abuser's home.
👏🏽👏🏽SLEEPOVERS👏🏽AREN'T👏🏽👏🏽SAFE👏🏽NOMORE👏🏽👏🏽
2. Teach your children your cell and or work numbers and home (and or work) addresses. Kidnappers undermine the intelligence in/of children. That way, when the chance befall them, the children are able to call you FIRST.
3. Teach your children about sexual health. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Tell them that certain body parts aren't to be touched by nobody. Teach them the importance of self worth and boundaries.
4. Train your children to shout FIRE instead of HELP. Studies shows people react faster to the word FIRE instead of the word help. People don't try to help when someone shouts help out of fear. Let the word fire become a code. Even when they're at your friends, family members etc ASK THEM WHETHER THEY NEED FIRE OR NOT. Ask your children. Assume something is wrong. ALWAYS assume they need FIRE (help)!
5. Teach/TRAIN your children to NEVER accept gifts. Studies shows gifts have become successful in luring children away from home. Your chidren shouldn't even accept gifts without reason or your consent. Unless you're aware of them assisting someone (KNOWN TO YOU- THE PARENTS), ensure that gifts are given to/for them via YOU- THE PARENTS!

6. Teach your children the do's and don't during sleepovers (Example):
a) DO NOT isolate yourself or get isolated by anyone.
b) DO NOT allow anyone to touch you inappropriately.
c) DO NOT accept "special gifts" from anyone. Especially from your friend's parents or family members.
d) SCREAM FIRE as loud as you can when you need help.
e) Fire means help. I (The Parents) will always assume you need help. Okay?
f) ALWAYS remain in a group NO MATTER WHAT!
g) I'm just a phone call away. Okay?
7. Teach your children to NEVER EVER be comfortable with an adult of the opposite sex. It must NEVER be okay for your child to be overly too close to an adult of the opposite sex.
It is important to share your chidren but it is IMPORTANTER to teach them safety!
